Portobello has three main areas of interest: film, television and theatre. Film and television projects are developed and produced through the Portobello Pictures label. Theatre projects operate through Portobello Productions.
Between 2006 and 2010, Portobello worked with Isango Portobello, a collaboration with award-winning director Mark Dornford-May to produce theatre and film projects.
In February 2010, The Fugard Theatre, a new theatre for Cape Town, opened, supported by Eric Abraham.
In 2007, Portobello launched the international sales company Fandango Portobello in conjunction with the Rome-based production company Fandango.
