Following an overwhelming audience reaction and standing ovation at the premiere of the Olivier award-winning Isango Portobello production of THE MAGIC FLUTE - IMPEMPE YOMLINGO at the Market Theatre, Johannesburg on Friday October 1, the show's producer Eric Abraham has announced that, in conjunction with the Market Theatre, every seat for the month-long run will now be free to the general public.
After its world premiere at the Baxter Theatre last year, THE MAGIC FLUTE - IMPEMPE YOMLINGO transferred to London's Young Vic theatre and later to the Duke of York's theatre in the West End, playing to critical acclaim, sold-out houses and standing ovations. It arrives at the Market following a run at the celebrated Dublin Theatre Festival in early October.
Given the current economic climate and the financial pressures people of all backgrounds are experiencing, the giveaway will allow as many South Africans as possible to have the opportunity to be inspired by the achievement of this local company. It's a show guaranteed to leave you feeling uplifted; a pre-Christmas gift to all who live in Gauteng.
