Tony Palmer's film FALLS THE SHADOW: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF ATHOL FUGARD has its world premiere at the Barbican in London on May 28th.

We will mark the 80th birthday of one of the world's most performed playwrights with the world première of Tony Palmer’s new film on the celebrated writer, actor and director Athol Fugard, at the Barbican Cinema in London on May the 28th.

Eric Abraham produced the documentary, and he will be introducing the film on the night.

Most noted for his plays revealing the shocking reality of South Africa’s apartheid history, the film includes footage of life under the regime and on the infamous Robben Island along with contributions from Nelson Mandela, Nadine Gordimer, Desmond Tutu, F.W. de Klerk, Yvonne Bryceland, John Kani, Alan Rickman and Kathy Bates, and features among others Antony Sher, Ben Kingsley, James Earl Jones, Pieter Dirk-Uys and Janet Suzman.
